1. Is training the sole business of your company? If not, what else does your company do?

Training is the primary business of Tech 2000. We have enhanced the learning and "training" environment to meet the growing needs of our customers. Our core strengths include content development, mobility, dynamic education tools, and training delivery for IT and business skills such as Apple OS X and Pro Apps, Cisco Certification, and Metro Ethernet.

2. Is Carrier Ethernet training the main focus of your training? If not, which market is your mainstream market?

Tech 2000 focused on educational solutions for carrier ethernet and service provider training.

We are a MEF authorized training provider (ATP) and we're the first and only MEF training provider to offer a self-paced MEF CECP eLearning On Demand. Our company is an active member of the Metro Ethernet Forum, and our CEO, George Churchwell, recently received the MEF Outstanding Contributor for FY12 initiating the MEF's mobile and online presence with the official  "MEF On The Go!" App for iPads.

We also are a Cisco Learning Partner Specialized and have a large clientele of service providers whom we have delivered related courses using Cisco hardware and products.

3. How many students have taken the MEF-CECP exam after receiving training from you?

To our knowledge, most, if not all attendees of the MEF CECP Exam Prep course intend to obtain certification by taking the exam. We have trained many of individuals since October of 2011, when the program began.

4. How many of those students have passed?

Our passing rate is above 92% for those who have taken the exam.

5. How many instructors do you have that are MEF-CECPs themselves?

Every one of our instructors is a Certified MEF-CECP.

To ensure that our instructors are subject matter experts on the MEF standards we require that they passed the exam with what is considered to be an "instructor score." This means not only do they have to pass the exam, but must pass with specific high score within the top percentile in order to teach the course on behalf of Tech 2000.

6. How long have you been active in the Carrier Ethernet industry?

Tech 2000 has offered vendor specific carrier ethernet training for 25 years. As mentioned above, we are a Cisco Specialized Learning Partner and have numerous contracts with service providers and others in the telecommunications industry to deliver customized training to their employees.

7. How long have you been members of the MEF?

Tech 2000 has officially been a member of the Metro Ethernet Forum since 2011.

Our MEF SME’s have been individual members of the MEF, some for as long as the MEF has been in existence.

8. What proportion of your MEF-CECP students (both pass and fail) that are from service providers?

Thus far, all attendees of the course have come from the service provider industry.

Which tier (1, 2 or 3) of service provider forms the largest proportion of your service provider customers?
Tech 2000 has delivered this course to a higher number of Tier 1 employees, however, we have trained all tiers. For references please contact us.

In which countries have you trained service provider staff for MEF-CECP? What is the primary region of your training of service providers to date?
Tech 2000 will deliver the training globally. Some of the countries in which we have customers are the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and the Philippines.

Was the training on the customer site?
We have delivered courses onsite as well as in a virtual environment depending on the needs of our customers.

How long were the courses?
The standard course is able to be customized based on the customer's needs. We have run courses that are 4-5 days in length depending on each customer.

Did the students take the exam with your company proctoring immediately at the end of the course? If not, why not?
This option varies by event. In some cases per customer request we proctor the exam on the last day of the event, while others choose to wait. Those that chose to wait did so in order to provide time to anyone who wished to study more prior to taking the exam, as they recognized that each individual will have different learning methods.

Is there any practical aspect to the training?
This depends on the course you have decided to pursue - our standard MEF CECP Exam Preparation course offers practical case studies to apply the lessons being covered for each topic.

9. Do you provide online training as well as frontal instruction?

Yes, Tech 2000 hosts the class in a virtual classroom with the same content and curriculum as attending a location based classroom.

10. What is the minimum number of students required in order to provide private training for our company?

There is no required minimum in order for Tech 2000 to deliver a private training course for a company.

11. Are there pre-requisites for students taking your MEF-CECP course in terms of knowledge and/or experience?

Participants are expected to have a strong understanding of IP and WAN principles. They should also understand with basics and foundation of Next Generation Networks.

12. What are the costs for the MEF-CECP trainings?

Pricing varies for private events. The retail price of the public course is $3,195.00 USD per seat, but for private events the per seat price is generally much lower. Should you like specific pricing for a private class, please provide your specific requirements (location, course length, number of attendees, date, would you like the exam/proctoring included?).

13. What is the retraining cost for those that did not pass first time?

This would have to be determined on a case by case basis, as we have not had to offer this for our MEF CECP students to this date.
